– Raheem Sterling scored with a volley to put Manchester City level
– Kyle Walker and Morgan Schneiderlin were both shown red cards
– Man City and Everton have four points from two games this season
– Wayne Rooney scored his 200th Premier League goal in the game
Striker Wayne Rooney continued his resurgence at Everton as he scored in the Toffees 1 – 1 draw with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Etihad stadium.
Manchester City’s night went bad when Wayne Rooney scored his 200th Premier League goal to put Everton ahead.
Kyle Walker was shown two yellow cards in two minutes to put his side ten man down.
This did not put City down as they dominated possession and had more chances to score. Danilo tested Jordan Pickford with a shot from inside the box.
Raheem Sterling would however equalize in the 82nd minute with a volley to set up a nervy last eight minutes.
Morgan Schneiderlin received his marching orders when the referee harshly showed him a second yellow card for a tackle on Wayne Rooney.
City could have scored the winner when Silva’s long ball found Kevin De Bruyne in the box but midfielder Davy Klassen did well to poke the ball out for a corner.
The match ended 1 – 1 as City and Everton rack up four points from two Premier League games so far this season.
