The new JAMB registra said there was an improvement on candidates performed this year compared to what we had previous years.

He urges the prospective candidates that the admission criteria is still the 60:40 Jamb and O Level ratio system. Prospective candidates are advised to change courses and institutions if their score is not too high for their desired courses as this will reduce their chances of admission. He said most competitive institutions like UNN,UI,UNIBEN,UNILAG,UNILORIN,OAU,FUNAAB,ABU  have their cut off mark stipulated at 200,while the rest universities have their cut off mark pegged at 180 and polytechnics, monotechnics and Colleges of education have their cut off mark stipulated at 150. JAMB preliminary admission posting of candidates to their various institutions according to each department cut off mark will commence soon and only candidates posted will be allowed to participate in his institutions post screening exercises for universities only. Universities has the right to deny candidates admission if he/she did not meet with the department cut off mark for the school as JAMB admission is an aid to admission and not admission itself. After the universities have selected their prospective candidates for admission, JAMB will still go through it to make sure that only the best are selected before approving it,this is to ensure equal admission to high scoring candidates in JAMB and O LEVEL......
