Keeper's showboating gave Mikel san jose Possible Goal of The Season

Marc-André ter Stegen has all the audacity
of youth. The 23-year-old goalkeeper loves
using his feet and taking risks, an approach
that can spill over into cockiness.


Well aware of his ability, the Barcelona and
Germany keeper can be overly flashy and
reckless, sometimes even taking his own
teammates aback with the manner of his
saves, passes and controls.

All of this came to a head in the first leg of
the Spanish Super Cup against Athletic de
Bilbao. Ter Stegen raced out of his area
and headed away when he could have
caught the ball had he been a little less
hasty.

As it happened, the clearance fell to
Mikel San José, who brought it down
superbly and sent a fabulous half-volley
sailing over the German's head and into
the net.



This error of judgement will further stoke
the debate about who should be Barça's
number 1 this season.
